After the roaring box office success of the Rajinikanth starrer Jailer, filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar is reportedly planning a sequel to the film.

Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer is on a roaring rampage at the box office domestically and worldwide. Now as the film enters the Rs 300 crore club within just four days of release and shows no sign of stopping, reports of a sequel have already begun to pour in. Jailer is directed by filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar.

Rajinikanth's fans were initially skeptical about the box-office potential of Jailer, considering Nelson’s previous film was a box-office failure. However, now the numbers have silenced all naysayers. The Rajinikanth-starrer film also features stars like Mohanlal, Ramya Krishnan, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The song Kaavaalaa, starring Rajinikanth and Tamannaah in the video, went viral the day it was released and hit more than 100 million views on YouTube.

Trade expert Girish Johar stated that Jailer sequel "is a reality". Johar posted on his X account (formerly Twitter) saying, “Nelson Dilpkumar has plans to get Superstar Rajinikanth & ThalapathyVijay together !!!!!! Meanwhile, Jailer 2 is a reality! All & more to be announced soon by the team.”

Earlier this morning, Manobala Vijaybalan posted on his X account that Jailer filmmaker is planning a sequel already. He quoted Nelson Dilipkumar as saying, "There are plans to take #Jailer part 2. I also have a dream to do one film featuring Vijay & Rajinikanth together." According to Vijayan, Nelson Dilipkumar is also planning sequels for his previous works like Beast, Doctor, and Kolamaavu Kokila.

Jailer has been breaking records in all directions. On day 4, the film entered the Rs 300 crore club. Jailer is the second fastest film to achieve this figure in just four days, after Shankar’s 2.0 (2018), also starring Rajinikanth. In Tamil Nadu alone, Jailer has already earned more than Rs 100 crores. The new release is the fourth Rajinikanth-starrer to enter the Rs 300 crore club, after Endhiran, Kabali, and 2.0.
