James Corden's video calling BTS' speech at UNGA 'unusual' deleted after backlash

After facing severe backlash from K-pop boy band BTS ARMY, CBS's Late Late Show With James Corden has deleted videos of host calling BTS's presence at United Nations General Assembly, 'unusual'. 

In recent episode of CBS show, host James Corden opened show with a mention of BTS' appearance and speech at  76th United Nations General Assembly in New York City on September 20. Calling m 'unusual visitors', Corden went on to say that for first time event marked that 15-year-old girl around world wishing band that y were Secretary-General António Guterres.

" United Nations General Assembly kicked off this morning in New York City, and it started with some pretty unusual visitors... BTS were re. BTS visited UN... Although lots of people are saying why are BTS re, world leers have no choice but to take BTS seriously. BTS has one of largest ARMY on planet earth. Historic moment. It actually marks first time that 15 year old girls everywhere found mselves wishing that y were Secretary General António Guterres," James Corden said.

Soon after, furious ARMYs began to flood video with protesting comments on social media in response to BTS references me on show. While one of ARMY wrote that a teenage girl liking boy band does not invalidate ir achievement" and or ARMY officially revoked  late-night show host's title as 'Papa Mochi'.

BTS at UNGA

BTS's septet Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V, Jungkook along with ir leer RM recently accompanied South Korean President Moon Jae-in at United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) as y were appointed special presidential envoys for future generations and culture. Known for ir amazing reach and following, y joined President at Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment 2021 at General Assembly Hall.

Dressed in formal suits for occasion, BTS dressed esteemed members of UNGA and delivered a speech and performed as well. y touched upon topics of youth's struggles to remain hopeful despite challenges of pandemic, vaccinations and nature conservation, and vaccinations during ir speech. United Nations's official Twitter handle live-streamed ir speech and performance which resonated with netizens who supported band throughout live stream.

Late Late Show with James Corden to bring back live studio audience

  Late Late Show with James Corden is  latest night show looking forward to being filmed in front of a live studio audience for first time since COVID pandemic. According to Deline,  team behind  James Corden-hosted series is considering bringing back fully vaccinated audiences from September 27.

Earlier, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, New York-shot shows  Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon brought back audiences.
