Kalki: Makers share unseen video of Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan from SDCC

The Kalki 2898 AD team attended the San Diego Comic-Con in July. The title of the Nag Ashwin directorial and its teaser were unveiled at the event. After a week, the makers of the film released the unseen footage from the Comic-con on Wednesday. The clip depicted the journey of the Prabhas starrer from Project K to Kalki 2898 AD.

Kalki 2898 AD takes over SDCC

Kalki 2898 AD’s production house, Vyjayanthi Movies, shared the video on their official Twitter handle. It documented the film’s experience at Comic-Con and the excitement felt by the fans who were present at the event. While Deepika was missing from the SDCC due to SAG-AFTRA strike, Amitabh Bachchan joined the cast of the movie through Zoom. 

Prabhas, Nag Ashwin, Kamal Haasan, and Rana Daggubati attended the event, alongside producers C Aswani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt. Aswani Dutt's statement that "It took 50 years of my hard work to reach Amitji, Kamalji, and my friend Prabhas" was one of the most moving parts of the video. The clip also captured the moment the teaser was shown to the audience and how they erupted in applause. 

Kalki 2898 AD to release in six languages

Written and helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is produced by C Aswani Dutt. The science fiction drama is a pan-India film that will release in theatres next year on January 12 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English languages. However, reports have suggested that the movie may be delayed till Summer next year.

It should be noted that Kalki 2898 AD is reportedly planned to be split into two parts. While the first film will introduce the characters and establish their place in the universe, the second film will dig deeper into the world of Kalki and will introduce new elements.
