Bagheera: Sriimurali Starrer To Become The First Kannada Movie To Stream On Netflix?

Bagheera, starring Sriimurali and Rukmini Vasanth, released on October 31, on the occasion of Diwali . The movie is written by Salaar fame Prashanth Neel and helmed by Dr Suri. The movie is receiving positive reviews from the audience and critics. However, the movie witnessed a slow start as it opened with ₹2.80 crore. Amid this, reports are doing the rounds that the movie has been bagged by the giant OTT platform.

Bagheera bags by Netflix

Reports are rife that the superhero film has signed a deal with Netflix, becoming the first Kannada movie to release on the OTT giant. Besides the report, a user also hinted at the same. “OTT release in Netflix this d game changer for sandalwood  It’s worth watching in theatres n first super hero movie of Kannada meets it’s hype n @SRIMURALIII delivers a stunner performance  Kudos to @hombalefilms, another feather on their hit list.”

However, the official announcement is still awaited.

Bagheera box office collection day 1

On the opening day, the movie earned ₹2.80 crore, per Sacnilk. Bagheera had an overall 43.29 per cent Kannada occupancy with a maximum reported in Mysuru (64.75 per cent).

Besides Kannada, the action thriller was released in theatres in four other languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The word of mouth for the film is good and it may translate into good opening day collections, although the business might be limited largely to Karnataka for now. Bagheera's action blocks, its vigilante justice storyline and the visuals have received thumbs up from those who watched it on the big screens.
