Renowned Kannada Director Guruprasad, 52, Found Dead At Bengaluru Residence, Suicide Suspected

Kanna Director Gurupras Dies: Popular Kanna director Gurupras, best known for his work in movies like Mata and Yeddelu Manjunatha, bread his last at age of 52. As per reports filmmaker was found de at his apartment in Bengaluru. A police investigation is underway, but initial reports claim that he has died by suicide. He was said to be in financial crisis.

Gurupras's high decomposed body found days after his death

Several media publications have reported that Gurupras's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his Manayakanahalli apartment in Bengaluru. It is alleged that filmmaker took his own life and his body was found a few days later.

CK Baba, Superintendent of Police (SP), Bengaluru Rural confirmed to Deccan Herald that Gurupras's neighbour altered law enforcement after a foul smell came from his apartment. police have sent 52-year-old's body for postmortem and more details will be known reafter. As of now, police are certain that incident took place a few days ago.

Gurupras alleged to be under financial crisis

While cause of his death is not confirmed yet, reports suggest that Gurupras might have resorted to suicide after being in financial crisis. It is being reported that filmmaker was accused of non-payment in past. Lakshmikant, owner of Total Kanna bookstore in Jayanagar, h filed a complaint against filmmaker for not completing his payment. case is from 2019, when Gurupras allegedly me purchases of Rs 65,000 but failed to make payment. complainant alleged that director moved his residence and could not be contacted.

Gurupras got remarried recently and is known to make films on important, hard-hitting subjects. Some of his best works include Mata, Eddelu Manjunatha, Director’s Special, Erane Sala, and Ranganayaka. state-award winning director has also acted in a few movies besides direction.
