Guruprasad Suicide: 'Decomposed Body...', Police Details Spine-Chilling Scenes At Director's Home
Sandalwood director Guruprasad was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru. According to the police, he was facing financial stress and professional hiccups.

Kannada film director Guruprasad was found hanging in a residential complex in the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday, police said. The 52-year-old director is suspected to have died by suicide. The incident occured in Madanayakanahalli police station limits and an investigation into the case has begun.
Guruprasad was known for his satirical style of filmmaking. His debut film Mata (2006) was widely appreciated, and his 2009 film Eddelu Manjunatha won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Screenplay. However, his sudden death has shocked many.
Police details scenes at Guruprasad's home
CK Baba, Superintendent of Police (SP), Bengaluru Rural said that Guruprasad visited his home 5-6 days back and did not step out after that. According to police sources, the Kannada actor-director's body was found in a decomposed state hanging from a ceiling fan in the flat. The neighbours alerted the police after a foul smell emanated from the house. Reportedly, he was facing financial stress and some of his movie was also facing roadblocks.
"Filmmaker Guruprasad was said to be upset about something, about his film or some other issue. We have heard that he was facing financial stress... five to six days back, neighbours had seen him coming to this house, after that he had apparently not stepped out. It appears that he hanged himself five to six days back and died," CK Baba told the media.
He added, "After seeing the body, we have registered the case and we will investigate the matter." The body has been shifted for post-mortem.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar mourns Guruprasad's demise
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar took to his X account to express his shock over Guruprasad's death and wrote, "I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Mr. Guruprasad, a creative director and a native of Kanakpur. I pray that the soul of Guruprasad, who contributed his own style to silver screen and television, may rest in peace. I also share in the pain of the deceased's family and loved ones. Om Shanti."
