Martin Box Office Collection Day 1: Sandalwood Gets Its Biggest Opener Of 2024 On Dussehra

Martin Box Office Collection: 'Action Prince' Dhruva Sarja starrer action drama Martin released in cinema halls on October 11, a day before Dussehra. While fans complained that early shows of the film were cancelled in Karnataka, AP, TS, and other regions were cancelled due to issues with distributors, the film picked up pace in the afternoon and evening shows, propelling it to a good opening of over ₹6 crore.

Martin scores well at the box office on its first day

According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, Martin collected ₹6.2 crore on day 1. The majority of its collection came from Karnataka, which is Dhruv Sarja's home territory. In Kannada, the action movie minted ₹5.5 crore, ₹25 lakh in Hindi, ₹5 lakh in Tamil and ₹4 lakh in Telugu. Going by the opening day figures, Martin is projected to do well on the Dussehra holiday and Sunday. It remains to be seen how the film performs in the long run and whether or not Martin can become Dhruv Sarja's biggest grosser worldwide.

Martin, however, surpassed Duniya Vijay's Bheema and  Malvika Nair and Ganesh's Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi to become the highest Sandalwood opener of 2024.

Martin is Dhruv Sarja's second-biggest opener at the box office

Till now, Dhruv Sarja's biggest opener is his 2021 release Pogaru, which collected ₹8.71 crore on day 1. Even though Martin has failed to surpass its collection, it could give competition to it in the longer run, given the planned festive release.    

The movie also features Anveshi Jain, Sukrutha Wagle, Achyuth Kumar and Nikitin Dheer in key roles. It is also being released in Telugu, with songs composed by Mani Sharma and the score by Ravi Basrur. Martin ensemble cast also includes Vaibhavi Shandilya, whose chemistry with Dhruva Sarja is one of the highlights of the movie. It is directed by AP Arjun. Meanwhile, Dhruva Sarja's next is KD - The Devil, planned for 2025 release.
