Katy Perry enters Mumbai airport without showing passport, netizens unhappy

After making headlines ever since her arrival, hobnobbing with B-Town and concluding with a dazzling concert, Katy Perry’s India trip did not end in the smoothest manner. The pop star earned the ire of netizens when she and her team refused to show their passports to the airport official on their way out of the country. As the video went viral, the Roar singer was termed ‘rude’, ‘disgusting’ and ‘arrogant’ for her behaviour.

A video of Katy Perry arriving at the Mumbai airport late on Saturday after her concert is doing the rounds on social media. The singer dressed in a sweatshirt, trackpant, cap and sunglasses, as she wheeled in her bags along with her team. After signing a few autographs, she and her team were stopped by the airport official and asked to present their passports. They, however, kept moving forward, despite the official trying to stop a member of the team again. As they seemed to show that they have the passport in their bags, Katy allegedly even told the official, “My passport is expired.”

Netizens were not happy at all. They termed her ‘disrespectful’ and her behaviour as ‘worst.’ "#katyperry Have you gone mad or what? You may be a popular singer, it doesn't mean you are exception for law and integrity. Put some sense in your head. India is greatest country where people treat guests as next to God's, Don't dare to take advantage....!” fumed one netizen. Another called it, “Ridiculous act😕😕". One commented, “How the hell...She was allowed to leave even when she ignored the..Security personnel..😑😑..This is disrespectful towards the Law!” One user wrote, “Such people should be behind bars ...worst behaviour shown by any celebrity.” “This utter disregard of airport security check should be brought to the notice of administrators,” was another comment.

Meanwhile, Katy Perry brought the crowd to their feet with the performance of her chartbusters at the event. Another star Dua Lipa too enthralled the audiences. The singer duo goofed around in selfies after the conclusion of the concert. Katy wrote, “Do you ship?! 🚢 KaDua or KaLipa? ok but seriously such a FAB night in Mumbai for #oneplusmusicfestival with qt @dualipa thanks to all that braved the traffic and this heat you are the REAL ones 💚”
