BTS J-Hope’s Colloboration With Pharrell Williams Sparks Outrage Among Netizens - Here's Why

BTS J-Hope is currently in the last leg of serving his mandatory tenure at the military. While the BTS rapper has largely kept a low profile during the course of the same, he occasionally shared posts on social media. His recent post with singer Pharrell Williams has now sparked anger among netizens.

Why netizens are miffed with J-Hope’s post?

J-Hope is expected to be discharged from his mandatory military service next month and has recently shared a photo of him with Pharrell Williams. The caption it read, "P & J….Can’t wait for 2025”. The post has indirectly hinted at possible collaboration next year.

With the backlash, J-Hope even limited his comments on the particular post. But on other social media platforms, netizens have mixed reactions to this. 

BTS leader RM, who has been an outspoken fan of Pharrell for years and even collaborated for an exclusive Rolling Stone interview, also commented on the post, indicating that he is looking forward to it.

Fans reaction to the possible collaboration

Regardless of the type of collab, many ARMYs wish J-Hope wouldn’t associate himself with Pharrell Williams. This is due to Pharrell’s alleged ties to Zionism. Fans were divided by this and flooded the internet with their negative views. One user wrote, “Damn Pharrell is also a Zionist!?”. Another user wrote, “The entire Kpop industry is run by Zionists.” “not again !”, wrote the third user.

When is BTS set to reunite?

All seven of BTS' members are currently serving their time in the military. J-Hope, meanwhile, is rather close to his discharge date. J-Hope enlisted in the military in April 2023 and is expected to be discharged in October. Meanwhile, the other members of BTS are also enlisted in the army and serving their duties.

Prior to him, Jin is expected to be discharged in June 2024. Suga, RM, and V will be discharged in June 2025, with Jungkook and Jimin following in December 2025.
