BTS One Step Closer To Reunion As J-Hope Gets Discharged From Military, Jin Welcomes Him | Photos

BTS megastar J-hope completed his 18 months of military service in South Korea on Thursday, October 17. BTS is a Korean pop band including V, Jungkook, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and Jin in group. Since 2022, all seven members of world’s most popular boy band have been on a ‘hiatus’ as y fulfill mandatory military duties, which all men under 30 in South Korea must undertake due to ongoing tensions with North Korea. J-Hope was second member of group to begin his military training and is now officially discharged.

BTS member Jhope, fondly called Hobi or Sunshine by ARMY, is second member who got discharged from his mandatory military service after Jin. Jin, oldest member of K-pop group BTS, finished his 18 months of service in South Korea and was discharged on June 12, 2024. When J-Hope arrived back today, Jin welcomed him with a heartfelt hug and a flower bouquet, and moment quickly spre across social media. Fans eagerly await reunion of V, Jungkook, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and Jin, longing to see iconic group toger once more.

On Weverse, J-Hope initiated a 30-day countdown to his discharge, stating, "One month, exactly 30 days left to go! time has flown by, but I'm alrey looking back on it. I’ve grown quite attached to everything here. I’ve been packing up, giving away some of my beloved belongings, and my locker is starting to look a bit empty."

When will or BTS members get discharged from military?

BTS is set to reunite by mid-2025. Suga, who enlisted on September 22, 2023, is anticipated to complete his service on June 21, 2025. RM and V joined military on December 11, 2023, and are expected to return toger by June 10, 2025. 

Meanwhile, Jimin and Jungkook, who enlisted a day later on December 12 2023, are due to finish ir service on June 11, 2025.
