BTS Suga Controversy: One of the 7 members of BTS has landed in a legal soup. BTS member Suga is currently in the spotlight due to a video revealing his drunk driving. This led to huge controversy spread domestically and internationally. Following the controversy, Suga visited the police station for his first round of questioning regarding the DUI case. Before entering the police station, he has also issued a brief apology to the public.

 

Suga visits the police station for the first round of investigation

On August 23 BTS rapper SUGA arrived at Yongsan Police Station for questioning related to his ongoing drunk driving case. As he arrived he faced the media and bowed his head, clearly showing his deep regret for the incident. While addressing the media, Min Yoon-gi stated his apologies, “Firstly, I apologise. I have let down my fans and many others, and I am reflecting deeply on this.”

He continued, “I will fully cooperate with the investigation. Once again, I am sorry.” After bowing his head once more, he entered the station for further questioning. This marks 17 days since the buzz surrounding his drunk driving incident first emerged. The allegations against SUGA have surprised many, considering his previously spotless public image and his role as a member of BTS, as the group known not only for their music but also for their positive influence and charitable work.

What is the BTS Suga drunk driving case?

It all started when reports emerged on August 7, that BTS member Suga had a DUI incident. On August 6, he fell off an electric scooter outside his residence, Nine One Hannam, a luxury complex in Hannam-dong. A patrolling officer who attended the scene noticed signs of alcohol on Suga and took him to the police station for investigation. It was later discovered that his blood alcohol level was 0.227%, prompting further scrutiny. Now, the case is under investigation.

Suga is currently serving his mandatory military term in the South Korean army.
