Lee Sun-kyun's heartbreaking note to wife Jeon Hye Jin surfaces hours after alleged suicide

Lee Sun-kyun, who was being probed for alleged drug abuse, allegedly died by suicide in his car in Seoul, South Korea. The Parasite actor's death came as a huge shock to the industry. Following the actor's death, it was reported by Yonhap New agency that his wife Jeon Hye Jin made a call to the police to report about her husband's disappearance. The report claimed that she contacted the officials and expressed her concern about Lee Sun-kyun, who had left a letter behind for his wife.

What was written in Lee Sun-Kyun's letter?

TV Chosun has shared the contents of the letter and the note was addressed to his wife Jeon Hye Jin. In the letter, the actor stated, 'I can't help it." He further wrote, "I think this is the only way." According to TV Chosun, the Parasite actor apologised to his agency and penned, "I'm sorry," while opening about his film penalties and financial burden, which took place due to the ongoing drugs case against him.

Lee Sun-kyun's agency releases a statement

Lee Sun-Kyun’s agency HODU&U Entertainment released an official statement after the actor’s death. As per Koreaboo, the statement read, "This is HODU&U Entertainment. We are sorry to share bad news. Actor Lee Sun Kyun passed away on December 27. There are no words to contain our sorrow and grief."

As reports of Lee Sun-Kyun dying by suicide surfaced, the agency requested everyone to refrain from making assumptions about him and shared details of his funeral procession. "Please respectfully refrain from spreading false information via speculation or malicious statements so that the final path of the deceased will not be unfair. The funeral will be held quietly with the deceased’s bereaved family and colleagues. We express our deepest condolences to the deceased," concluded the statement.

Born in 1975, Lee starred in Parasite and also played prominent roles in movies like Helpless and All About My Wife.
