My Demon beats Welcome to Samdalri in popularity chart, Maestra inches closer to the top spot

The craze around K-dramas (Korean television series) has taken over the globe and Korean showbiz is cashing largely on it. The popularity chart of last week’s shows is finally out and after a neck-to-neck competition, My Demon has topped the chart beating Welcome to Samdalri.

For the unversed, My Demon was also at No. 1 on the Good Data Corporation's weekly list recently. It is followed by Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun’s Welcome to Samdalri. Dramas like Maestra: Strings of Truth and Live Your Own Life have also shown significant growth after their recent episodes managed to grab major eyeballs.

Why is My Demon so famous?

The story of My Demon revolves around the love life of Demon Jeong Gu Won who is very close to losing all his demonic power and Do Do Hee who is dealing with false accusations of murder. One can watch this K-drama every Friday and Saturday on the SBS channel and also on Netflix exclusively.

For the unversed, not just the show but actor Song Kang is also soaring in popularity, especially after the recent 7-8 episode where there were scenes of his love confessions with Kim Yoo Jung paired with some steamy sequences. Samdalri on the other hand continues to achieve its personal growth.

The 5th and 6th episodes of Welcome to Samdalri earned massive viewership

The Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun starrer made an average nationwide rating of 8.295 per cent with its sixth episode. Maestra: Strings of Truth led by Lee Young Ae, Lee Moo Saeng, and Hwang Bo Reum Beyol, has also secured a nationwide average rating of 6.0 per cent after its fourth episode.

Where Live Your Own Life recorded 18.8 percent, Korea Khitan War maintained its average viewership rating of 9.6 per cent.
