Lata Mangeshkar avers 'India fully equipped to resolve issues amicably' amid Rihanna row
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar took to her Twitter to slam the propaganda against India and the comments by International celebrities on the farmers' protest.

Mangeshkar highlighted that she has 'full faith' that country's problems will be 'resolved amicably' as we are 'fully equipped'.
"India is a glorious nation and we all Indians stand with our heads held high. As a proud Indian, I have full faith, that any issues or problems that as a country we face; we are fully equipped to resolve m amicably, keeping interest of our people in mind," statement read.
Comments by Barbadian pop star Rihanna, environmental activist Greta Thunberg and US Vice President Kamala Harris's niece Meena Harris on farm stir sparked off a controversy as it was perceived as foreign meddling in India's internal affairs.

MEA cautions foreign celebrities
In a strongly-worded statement, MEA made it clear that farm reforms were enacted by Parliament after a full debate and discussion. Maintaining that only a very small section of farmers have reservations about se laws, it mentioned that Centre has t only conducted 11 rounds of talks with farm unions but also offered to keep implementation of laws on hold. MEA lamented that "vested groups" were trying to derail protests despite this scenario.

impasse over farm laws continues
At present, talks between Union government and farmers' unions have come to a standstill. This development comes after associations refused to agree to Centre's proposal for suspending implementation of aforesaid legislation for one and a half years. While last round of talks lasted for nearly 5 hours, farmers claimed that two sides sat face-to-face for less than 30 minutes. Maintaining that re was problem in three agrarian laws, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar categorically said that Union government is ready for ar meeting only if farmers want to discuss this proposal.

This comes even as Supreme Court has stayed implementation of farm laws and formed a committee to resolve standoff between protesting farmers and Centre. situation furr exacerbated on January 26 after farmers' tractor rally turned violent resulting in 510 Delhi police personnel getting injured and extensive dam to public property. Until w, police has registered 44 FIRs in connection with violence.
