Veteran Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar will be conferred the ‘Daughter of the Nation’ title on the occasion of her 90th birthday on September 28. As per media reports, the veteran singer will be honoured with the title as a tribute to her contribution to Indian film music over seven decades.
As per media reports, an informed source from the government revealed that PM Modi is a huge admirer of Lata Mangeshkar's voice and said that the veteran singer will be officially designate as the ‘Daughter of the Nation’ on her 90th birthday. He further reportedly revealed that poet-lyricist Prasoon Joshi has written a special song for the occasion.

President Ram Nath Kovind visits Lata Mangeshkar
President Ram Nath Kovind met Lata Mangeshkar at her residence in Mumbai during his visit to the city last month. The official Twitter handle of the President had put up a picture from the meeting and hailed the legendary musician as 'the pride of India'. In the post, the country chief expressed his delight to meet the legendary musician and conveyed his best wishes. He also praised her for sweetening lives with her soulful melody and said that she 'continues to inspire us with her simplicity and grace'.
