Maharashtra Elections: Swara Bhaskar's Meeting With Radical Islamic Cleric Sajjad Nomani Stirs Row
Sajjad Nomani has spoken against women's education and interfaith marriages. Swara was called a hypocrite for claiming to be a feminist and then meeting Nomani.

Maharastra Elections: Ahe of state assembly elections on November 20, Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar met rical Islamic cleric Sajj Nomani along with her husband Fah Ahmed. meeting happened as Swara campaigned for Fah, NCP (SP) candidate from Mumbai’s Anushakti Nagar assembly seat.
Swara caught up with Nomani in hopes that he would appeal to his fellow rical supporters to vote for her husband. A photo from ir meet-up has gone viral on social media, with many criticising her for calling upon controversial leer.

Swara stirs row after photo with rical Islamic cleric surfaces
Swara and her politician husband Fah Ahm visited Maulana Sajj Nomani at his office on Saturday, November 16. Fah later posted photos from meeting on social media, captioning m, "In service of Maulana Sajj Nomani, who blessed us abundantly."
Nomani is known for his controversial views and has previously expressed disapproval of female education and interfaith marriages. Many called out Swara for claiming to be a "feminist" but meeting an orthodox leer for sake of her husband's political ambitions.

Fah is competing for Anushakti Nagar assembly seat against Sana Malik
Fah Ahmed will take on Ajit Pawar-led NCP's Sana Malik, daughter of former minister Nawab Malik, who was arrested in February 2022 by Enforcement Directorate for allegedly usurping a property in Kurla in Mumbai with help of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim's sister. Nawab Malik, sitting MLA from Anushakti Nagar, was released on bail last year.
Ahm, state president of Samajwi Party youth wing, switched over to NCP (SP), which promptly fielded him from Anushakti Nagar.
