Malayalam actor Siddique has been granted anticipatory bail by Supreme Court, which was based on allegations levelled by a young actor. This comes after Kerala High Court had refused to grant anticipatory bail in the sexual harassment case registered against Siddique.

More details about Siddique’s anticipatory bail

Siddique had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail in the sexual harassment case registers against Siddique by a Malayalam film actress. Granting anticipatory bail, the Supreme Court acknowledged that the complainant had filed a complex in 2016, almost 8 years after the alleged incident and she had also posted on Facebook in 2018 in which allegations were made against 14 people including Siddique in connection with the alleged sexual abuse.

Along with the fact that she did not approach the Justice Hema Committee with her complaint. The Supreme Court has ordered that actor Siddique will cooperate in the investigation and will have to submit his passport in the lower court. Granting anticipatory bail to Siddique, the Supreme Court said that the remaining conditions of anticipatory bail will be decided by the lower court.

All about Siddique charged with sexual assault case

According to PTI, a rape case has been registered against Siddique following a female actor's allegation that he sexually assaulted her in 2016. An FIR under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered against the actor at Museum police station, a senior police officer said. The case was registered under the IPC as the offence allegedly occurred in 2016.

In a media interaction, the actress alleged that the incident happened when she was 21 years old. She stated that Siddique initially contacted her on Facebook, addressing her as "Mole," a term often used in Kerala to refer to a young girl or daughter. She further claimed that during the discussion, he sexually abused her.
