Fahadh Faasil has become one of the most sought-after pan-India stars right now. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Fahadh's feature films were watched widely on OTT. In fact, some of the Mollywood star's movies trended on digital platforms on top spots as viewers continued to discover his work. Cut to 2024, Fahadh has a big project lined up -- Pushpa 2-- opposite Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna , all set to hit the big screens on December 5. Before the big release, let's see how the year has been for FaFa at the box office.
Fahadh Faasil gives Mollywood two big hits
Fahadh Faasil's backed Premalu, a rom-com starring Mamitha Baiju and Naslen Gafoor, was a youth-centric drama tempered with comic elements. While the Trance star did not feature in the film, the fact that he backed the new-age movie as a producer was a master move. Many shared how Fahadh and his wife's Bhavana Studio has a knack for picking projects that capture the vein of the audiences. Premalu was not only a blockbuster in Kerala , but its Telugu release also delivered box office returns. Now, a sequel of the movie is also in development.

Aavesham, which is the story of college students, “re-introduced” Fahadh Faasil. He played the role of gangster Ranga in it. The film was a blockbuster hit, with youth turning out in huge numbers to drive its box office. Now, rumours are rife that a remake of Aavesham is also in the works.
Premalu worldwide collection: ₹131.5 crore
Aavesham worldwide collection: ₹154.8 crore

Back-to-back flops for Fahadh Faasil
After two commercial successes, Fahadh Faasil featured in Rajnikanth fronted Vettaiyan and Kunchacko Boban's Bougainvillea. Even though Fahadh's performances in the movies, in the capacity of extended cameos, were lauded, both films, despite expectations, bombed at the box office. Vettaiyan, especially, given its star-studded cast, was a big dud and could not even touch the ₹150 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Bougainvillea also failed to break even with a domestic business of ₹17.25 crore and a worldwide gross of a little over ₹36 crore. With two hits and two misses in his bag in 2024, all eyes are now on Pushpa: The Rule, in which Fahadh plays the antagonist. His face-off with Allu Arjun's titular characters was set up at the end of the first installment and will play out more in the second part of the franchise, set to release on December 5.
