Kaakka actress Lakshmika Sajeevan, 24, dies of heart attack
Lakshmika Sajeevan shot to fame for her touching portrayal of a girl from a marginalised community in the immensely popular Malayalam telefilm Kakka.

Malayalam actress Lakshmika Sajeevan, best known for her role in Kaakka, died on Thursday. She reportedly succumbed to a heart attack in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, where she was working in a bank. Lakshmika was 24. Her last Instagram post on November 2, featured a beautiful sunset with the caption "HOPE.light despite all of the darkness."
Lakshmika Sajeevan's breakthrough role
Lakshmika Sajeevan gained widespread acclaim for her touching portrayal of a girl from a marginalised community in the immensely popular Malayalam telefilm Kaakka. Released on April 14, 2021, the movie became a sensation on the OTT platform Neestream, accumulating over 6 million views. Her performance as a dark-skinned, neglected girl was appreciated by both critics and audiences.
In an earlier interview, Lakshmika had said she had doubted whether she would be able to do justice to her character Panjami in Kaakka. “The role was supposed to be essayed by another actor. When I landed the role, I was pretty unsure if I would be able to essay Panjami's role well. I also took some time to get used to the makeup for the short film. However, I was surprised by the acceptance my character received,” she had said.

Lakshmika Sajeevan hails from Vazhavelil in Kochi. The late actor's filmography includes roles in movies like Oru Yamandan Premakatha, Panchavarnathathaa, Saudi Vellakka, Puzhayamma, Uyare, Oru Kuttanadan Blog, and Nityaharitha Nayagan.
Lakshmika's previous outing in the thriller Koon and her portrayal of Devayani teacher in the drama film Puzhayamma garnered positive responses from audiences and critics alike.
