L2 Empuraan First Look: Prithviraj Sukumaran As Zayed Masood, The Emperor's General, Is Combat Ready

On the occasion of Prithviraj Sukumaran's birthday, makers have unveiled his first-look poster as Zayed Masood from the upcoming movie L2: Empuraan.

Prithviraj Sukumaran is celebrating his 41st birthday today, October 16, and on this occasion, the makers have treated the actor's fans to his first look from L2: Empuraan. The production house Lyca Productions introduced the actor as Zayed Masood.

Meet Zayed Masood, the Emperor's General

Taking to X, Lyca Productions shared the character poster of Prithviraj in which he can be seen in a commando avatar with a bulletproof vest and wielding a gun. He can seen standing in an ancient building with broken scultures. "Happy birthday General! Forsaken by God…nurtured by the DEVIL! #ZayedMasood The Emperor’s General," read the caption.

Helmed by Prithviraj himself, the movie serves as the second installment of a trilogy, following the 2019 film Lucifer. The movie is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas.

What else do we know about L2: Empuraan?

It stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, reprising his role from the original, alongside, Mammootty as Masood Ezra portrays the role of an ageing don confined to his bed, exuding a quiet yet intimidating presence (Godfather of Khureshi), an ensemble cast of Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Arjun Das, Saniya Iyappan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Fazil, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, and Sachin Khedekar. The film's music will be composed by Deepak Dev, who composed music for the prequel.

The movie is still in the filming stage which began last year in October. It will be released in five languages - Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The makers are planning to release the movie worldwide on the last week of March 2025, which will mark the 6th anniversary of Lucifer.
