Malayalam Director Mohan Dead: Sakshyam Fame Passes Away At 76 After Prolonged Illness

Mollywood News: Mohan, one of the leading directors of Malayalam cinema during the 1980s, is no more. He was one of the legendary filmmakers during the golden era of Malayalam cinema.

Cause of death of filmmaker Mohan revealed

According to reports, Malayalam filmmaker Mohan was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. Mohan breathed his last at the hospital. He was reportedly under treatment for quite some time due to certain serious health issues, as per the close sources.

Reports suggest Anupama Mohan's wife burst into tears when the late director Mohan's body was brought to her home in Panambilly Nagar, Kochi.

Director Mohan's legacy

Mohan began his career as P Venu’s assistant and later worked with John Paul who established him as a director. His first break was Gandharva Padmarajan which also led him to work with 1978 film Shalini Ente Kootukari. He is also considered to be one of the leading directors in the 80s, the golden age of Malayalam cinema.

His notable works include Vodka Veedu, Idavela, Rachana, Oru Katha Our Nunnakkatha, Isabella, Mukham, Pakshe, Sakshyam and Angene Oru Avadikkalathu among others.

Mohan-Anupama’s Relationship Timeline

Mohan was married to an actress Anupama, the heroine of his film Randu Panektttikal. She is a renowned Kuchipudi dancer. The couple have two sons Purandar and Upendhar.
