Suchitra has been in the news for making shocking claims against her fellow industry members. Recently, she has made serious allegations against Rima Kallingal, who is also a member of WCC. A video clip from her recent interview is going viral on the internet where she accuses the Malayalam actress of hosting drug-fueled parties. These allegations have surfaced amid the ongoing #MeToo movement in the Malayalam film industry post-release of the Hema Committee report.

Suchitra claims Rima Kallingal's career was affected because of the parties

In the video shared by SS Music, the singer claims that Rima's career was impacted by hosting drug-fueled parties. "Certain things should never be used at a party, not even at an adult party. Kochi raids all happened at Rima Kallingal and her then-boyfriend Aashiq Abu, right?” she added.

Suchitra further stated that both men and women, present at these parties, would reportedly be involved in substance use. Expressing her disbelief, she added that several Malayalam singers who attended these parties confided in her and shared some disturbing details from the parties.

Who is Rima Kallingal?

She is an actress and film producer who made her acting debut with Ritu (2009). She has starred in several successful movies such as 22 Female Kottayam, Ayalum Njanum Thammil and Rani Padmini. In her career spanning 15 years, she has starred in around 35 movies, some of which were unsuccessful at the box office. Last she was seen in Neelavelicham based on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's renowned short story of the same name and is also a reboot of the 1964 blockbuster, Bhargavi Nilayam. The movie witnessed a lukewarm reception but before its release, it fell into legal trouble when music composer Baburaj's daughter sent a legal notice to Aashiq Abu (producer and Rima's husband) and Bijibal against them for using Baburaj's song from Bhargavi Nilayam in the movie.

Rima is currently busy with her duties as a member of WCC. This body helped in unearthing the working conditions of female artists in Malayalam cinema and the reason behind the release of the Hema Committee report in public.
