Tovino Thomas reveals intriguing first glimpse of crime thriller Anweshippin Kandethum | Watch

In the last couple of years, Malayalam cinema's police procedurals and crime thrillers have caught the attention of the pan-India audience. Tovino Thomas’ upcoming movie Anweshippin Kandethum seems to be yet another promising addition to the list. The makers of the film released a thrilling teaser on Friday, much to the fans' anticipation.

Tovino Thomas plays an investigative cop

Anweshippin Kandethum is directed by debutant Darwin Kuriakose and written by Jinu Abraham who has earlier written movies like Masters (2014), Adam Joan (2017) and Kaduva (2022). The teaser sets a minimalist tone with shots that create an impact with their vivid imagery. The visuals are aided by an intriguing background score that helps build further tension.

Tovino Thomas plays a cop who is in charge of the investigation of the series of crimes that shook Kerala. The 2018 actor has earlier played a cop in films like Kalki and Ezra. He was recently in the news for his survival drama 2018 being selected as India’s official entry to the 2024 Academy Awards. Meanwhile, Anweshippin Kandethum also stars Indrans, Pramod Veliyanad, Siddique, Shammi Thilakan, Baburaj, Arthana Binu, Ramya Suvi and Saranya in key roles.

Tovino's next to release in December

Anweshippin Kandethum is co-produced by Theatre of Dreams and Yoodlee Films. The latter, headed by Siddharth Anand Kumar, has produced many Hindi films like Chaman Bahaar, Agra, Hamid and United Kachche. Yoodlee Films was also the co-producer of the recently released Malayalam film Kasargold. Santosh Narayanan, who is known for his music for films like 96 and Periyerum Perumal, has composed the music for this film.

The makers of Anweshippin Kandethum began shooting for the film early in March and wrapped up their shoot in June. Anweshippin Kandethum is set to release in December.
