Malayalam Jailer director says Kerala theaters rejecting his film for Rajinikanth's movie
Fans have been anticipating to see the results of the Jailer vs Jailer clash at the box office. However, Sakkir Madathil narrated his ordeal on the issue.

Not just one, but two South Indian films with the title Jailer will be released in theatres on August 10. Malayalam film Jailer, helmed by Sakkir Madathil, and Rajinikanth's highly anticipated movie with the same title will clash at the box office. However, the clash of these two films was unforeseen and now the director of the Malayalam movie Sakkir Madathil has opened up on bearing the brunt of this box office battle.

Jailer vs Jailer clash: Sakkir Madathil narrates his ordeal
In an interview with Cinema Vikatan, which is a regional media house, filmmaker Sakkir Madathil revealed that he had invested at least Rs. 5 crore on the Jailer film and even gave his house as a mortgage. He also mentioned that he has to mortgage his daughter's jewellery for the project but all his efforts went in vain.

He said that these circumstances have forced him to release his film in theatres alongside the Rajinikanth starrer. Sakkir mentioned that the distributors suggested that his film won't work at the box office once the Tamil-language Jailer releases. Hence, he has to release his film with Nelson's Jailer and wait for the result. Nevertheless, he has appealed to the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce to look into the matter as he registered the title of Jailer first in 2021.
Kerala theatres reject Malayalam film Jailer?
If reports are to be believed, Sakkir Madathil had requested Sun Pictures, the production house of other Jailer movie, to change the title of their film. However, his appeal was rubbished and yielded no result. Sakkir even revealed that the theatres have allotted the screens to Rajinikanth's film and his movie has been rejected from being screened. Now, the filmmaker will reportedly go on a one-man protest as these Tamil films have been suffocating the Malayalam movies.
