'We make virtue of necessity': Naples teachers give socially-distanced classes on streets

As educational institutes in the Italian region of Campania are shut down amid COVID-19, teachers have resorted to socially-distanced 'balcony teaching'.

Amid resurgence of COVID-19 cases, as educational institutes in Italian region of Campania are shut down, teachers have resorted to socially-distanced “balcony teaching”. Saying that y are making “virtue of necessity”, Naples teachers are preventing students from falling behind due to global health crisis and even taking classes on streets. 

Even though Campania, around Naples mand to avoid first wave of vel coronavirus outbreak in Italy, it has recently started recording an uptick of COVID-19 cases. This prompted local authorities to close most schools until end of October. Among many ors is Tonio Stornaiuolo who yells out his lessons to pupils listening from ir balconies and on streets outside home.

Stornaiuolo started ‘balcony teaching’ this week in Spanish Quarters and it was a “miracle”. As per la Repubblica report, parents and or people of alley also appeared and simple teacher’s lesson reportedly turned into a collectively joyous activity. teacher of Dalla Parte dei Bambini school, re ‘Telegram’ and ‘Pulcinell’s escape’ that are two texts that have me of freedom. Earlier, Stornaiuolo h taken to Facebook to state how it was necessary. He said, “ current situation is delicate and serious, but we must show children that difficulties, toger, can be overcome…”

Stornaiuolo wrote,"In se difficult times, where situation is serious, time of uncertainty and fear is mastering."

‘Tired but charged,’ says Naples teacher

Naples teacher, again on Facebook, expressed after his initial classes on ros, that he is “tired but charged”.
