National Aeronautics and Administration (NASA) recently took to Instagram to share a rare cloudless view of Elephant Island. remarkable photograph showed a stunning aerial view of hermit Island located off coast of Antarctica. Captured by Landsat, satellite responsible for earth imry, rar detailed im showcases ice-laden cliffs and deep crevasses. 

According to NASA Earth Observatory, im of island located rast tip of Antarctic Peninsula was captured on December 13. island was discovered in 1915 after British Explorer Earnest Shackleton and his crew landed on island after months adrift in Sourn Ocean. island currently hosts variant species of seals and penguins and is a prime spot for watching whales.

It has t only left people wondering about reason behind its name but also given m an opportunity to suggest alternate names for same. “Pen island” wrote a user while ar added if it could be alternatively names as “ray gun island.”

NASA shares ims of Islands of Ecuador

Previously, a NASA astronaut had released ims of enchanted Islands of Ecuador – Galápagos, photographed aboard International Station with Expedition 55 crew. Shared on official handle of NASA Astronauts, ims depict iconic view of island from more than 200 miles above our Earth. Thick clouds can be seen hovering above Galápagos Islands and sun glint beaming across deep emerald waters off coast of Ecuador as ISS orbited above Pacific Ocean. Internet was astonished at scenic beauty of volcanic islands cluster.
