Nayanthara to be Prabhas' co-star in Kannappa after Nupur Sanon's exit?

Nayanthara is currently riding high on the box office success of her Bollywood debut Jawan. Prabhas, on the other hand, is gearing up for his next two big banner releases after Om Raut's magnum opus Adipurush. If recent reports are to be believed, the two may just end up sharing screen space once again post a 16-year gap.

Nayanthara recently marked her Bollywood debut with Jawan which has been doing big numbers at the domestic and global box office. She has completed filming for Iraivan which is now currently in post-production.

Not just this, she is currently working on Ladysuperstar75 and Test, both of which she is filming for. Prabhas on the other hand is gearing up for two big banner releases. First in line is Prashanth Neel's Salaar. While the film was slated to release on September 28, it currently stands postponed. Next in line is Nag Ashwin's futuristic take on mythology with Kalki 2898 AD. Nayanthara and Prabhas shared screen space 16 years back in VV Vinayak's film Yogi. If reports are to be believed, they may team up again.

Who's saying what?

If reports are to be believed, Vishnu Manchu's next, Kannappa, will star Prabhas and Nayanthara in the lead. If true, this would mean an onscreen reunion for the two actors post a 16-year-long gap. Though there have been no official reports confirming the same, the buzz around the news all but confirms it. The same reports also suggest that while Prabhas is being roped in to play the role of Lord Shiva, Nayanthara will be playing Parvati.

Earlier, Nupur Sanon was announced as the lead for the film with the actress even sharing pictures from the Muhurat puja. However, Sanon will not feature in the project allegedly due to call sheet issues. Kannappa is all set to be directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh who is best known for helming the Mahabharat serial.

Meanwhile...

Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Burra Sai Madhav and Thota Prasad are credited with the plot of Kannappa. Manisharma and Stephen Devasi will be giving the music. Additionally, Mohan Babu will be producing the film.
