Netflix's 'Cuties' was criticized heavily when the first look poster and synopsis of the film were released. Now, the company has apologised for the same.

Netflix has been coursing through troubled waters ever since it debuted promo art and sypsis for its upcoming film Cuties which is all set to debut on September 9 on platform. controversial French film originally titled Mignnes but has been changed ti Cuties for global audience. poster and description of film released by Netflix showcased eleven-year-olds posing in costumes barring ir legs and midriffs which was deemed to be disgusting and sick by netizens around world. Netflix has w apologised for artwork y used for film after a Change.org petition to remove film in its entirety registered over 127K signature. Though Netflix has apologised for film's artwork, netizens have been vocal about taking film down from streaming platform.

movie revolves around an eleven-year-old dancer who rebels against her family. original sypsis of film stated that central character of film 'becomes fascinated with a twerking dance crew and starts to explore her feminity. Change.org petition has deemed project to be a 'viewing pleasure of pedophiles'. petition states furrmore that re is need for adult-med content for people in group of 11.

On or hand, director Maïmouna Doucouré, in a recent interview with Cieuropa revealed that film is partly based on her own childhood experiences and claims film is also synymous with girls growing up today. director has deemed film to be an uncompromised portrayal of an 11-year-old girl who is stuck in a world which imposes a series of dictates on her. director believes it is very important to t judge characters in film but to understand ir complexity. film is currently slated to release in September, it is unsure wher Netflix will pull film off its release date.
