Actor Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur is all set to premiere on OTT. Apparently, Meghna Gulzar directorial agreed with traditional 8-week window before making its digital premiere.
There are media reports hinted that the movie will release on Christmas on the OTT platform Zee 5. While another set of reports suggested that Sam Bahadur is slated to premiere on OTT platforms from Republic Day. This move has allowed to maintain its presence in theaters while also building anticipation for its upcoming digital release.
Jehan Manekshaw goes all praises for Vicky Kaushal
Vicky Kaushal's performance as Sam Manekshaw garnered praises in the industry leading to the potential accolades, including a National Award for the talented actor.
Jehan Manekshaw, the grandson of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, expressed his appreciation for Vicky Kaushal's depiction of his grandfather. In a statement, Jehan applauded Kaushal's hard work, stating that he witnessed the actor's dedication bringing the character to life.
Jehan shared a motto of his grandfather. "Work Hard, Play Hard," and expressed happiness for Kaushal's efforts during play-acting and his heartfelt commitment to the role.
What do we know about Sam Bahadur?
Vicky’s latest release Sam Bahadur is a biographical war drama film based on the life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. It is directed by Meghna Gulzar . Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front leading to Bangladesh's liberation.
Talking about playing Manekshaw in the film, Vicky agrees that there was something unique about his aura.
He said: “His aura was not limited to the uniform. It was not like when he would wear his uniform he would have this aura and when he’s not with this aura. He just had this aura and flamboyance spirit that heart which would cut across a room full of people irrespective of whether he is in a uniform or not to crack that … spirit was the focus was on that a lot more than just his body language.”
Released on December 1, the biographical war drama film, has collected a total of Rs 38.8 crore in 7 days of its release.
