The boom of regional content has coincided with the boom of the OTT space. Following this, several titles carrying niche content have been making their way onto the many up and coming streaming platforms. The latest in this regard, in Telugu web series 90's, now available for streaming on OTT.
90's makes its OTT debut
Pegged as a family entertainer with several nostalgia-evoking moments and plot points, Telugu series 90's has now finally made its way on to the digital streaming space. For those who want to catch the series, it is available for streaming on ETV Win. It marked its debut on the platform on January 5.
Directed by Aditya Hasan, the series features an ensemble cast of Shivaji, Mouli, Vasuki Anand, Vasanthika, Rohan, Snehal Kamat. Co-produced by Naveen Medaram, Rajasekhar Medaram, the period-appropriate music for the same has been given by Suresh Bobbili. Additionally, Azeem Mohammed has helmed the cinematography.
What is 90's all about?
As the name suggests, Telugu web series 90's is set in the name adjacent decade. The show revolves around a middle class family, based in Wanaparthy. The series is led by Shivaji who plays Chandra Sekhar, a government teacher. Vasuki Anand plays Rani, his wife, a homemaker. The plot centres around the two and their three children who become a realistic mirror in the show to portray the dissatisfactions and sacrifices that may come with being middle class.
While the children are more contemporary in their outlook, Chandra Sekhar and Rani attempt to raise them traditionally keeping in mind their principles and values. Despite its rather realistic plot points, the series still manages to maintain an air of entertainment falling into the category of a feel-good watch. The show has been accruing positive reviews since its release.
