Ali Fazal opened up on his biggest insecurity about Mirzapur. The actor admitted being unsure about his body language while playing the role of Guddu.

Even though Ali Fazal has appeared in numerous Hollywood movies, his fans in India still adore him for his role as Guddu Bhaiya in Mirzapur. In a recent interview, the actor opened up on his biggest insecurity about the show. He also revealed that he was approached for the role of Munna, which eventually went to his co-star Vikrant Massey.

Ali Fazal on his insecurity about Mirzapur
In a conversation with Jist, Ali admitted being a little uneasy and insecure on the first day on the set of Mirzapur. Not feeling confident in his body, the actor started walking with a hunch that impressed the director.

He assumed a slumped stance because he felt unprepared, not realising that it would later become a defining element of Guddu's character. Ali said, “My biggest insecurity became the coolest thing about Mirzapur, which was that I always felt I was not ready with my body so I started hunching and I would be very insecure. The first time I walked on the set, the director praised my walk. He said ‘Genius, keep it’.”

During the same interaction, the actor revealed he was first approached to play the role of Munna, however, he was attracted to the character of Guddu. He added, “I wasn’t even offered Guddu first, I was offered Munna. I said this is a very author-backed role and it’s a great role but I think I can bring something more to this (Guddu.)”

He continued by saying that he nearly got into a fight with his director about Guddu's appearance since he could not picture the character having a full head of hair. Additionally, Ali opted for a natural approach to fitness, abstaining from pills and protein powders in favour of a diet and exercise regimen.
