Steven Knight’s far told him story

Knight claims that his family were part of Peaky Blinders. However, y were called Sheldons and t Shelbys. It was stories that his far told him as a child that would inspire series. Speaking to a portal, Knight said this was one that started it. "One of stories that really made me want to write Peaky Blinders is one my dad told me," he had said.

Billy Kimber and Darby Sabini were real gangsters

John Shelby and Michael Gray are brors in real life

Joe Cole, who plays role of John Shelby, is actually older bror of Finn Cole, who plays role of Michael Gray. However, John’s Shelby’s character was killed off in season four. Michael Gray’s character was introduced in season two and still appears in season five.

Cillian had to smoke a lot of cigarettes

Cillian Murphy is rarely seen without a cigarette in his mouth in show. In an interview, Murphy said that use herbal rose variant, and smoked like five a day. He also asked prop guys to count how many cigs y used during a series and count is around 3000.

references to ‘hell’ are real

Visual references to hell in show are absolutely real. In first season, you can see Tommy walking to Garrison Pub. Colm McCarthy, who directed second season, said to a media portal that use of flames in first episode is very deliberate. "Absolutely, re’s definitely a sense of hell and that’s very deliberate", he reportedly told sources.

Knight has already said when series will end
