PM Modi, President Murmu Mourn Sharda Sinha's Demise During Chhath Puja: An Irreparable Loss

Sharda Sinha Death: PM Narendra Modi mourned passing away of popular folk singer Sharda Sinha in a heartfelt post on X. Sinha was battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, since 2017. She bread her last at New Delhi's All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at 9.20 pm. Earlier, hospital confirmed that PM Modi was keeping track of Sharda's condition and was in touch with team of doctors treating her. Her death saw an outpouring of grief on social media.

Mourning Sinha's death, PM Modi wrote on X, "I am deeply saddened by demise of rewned folk singer Sharda Sinha ji. Her Maithili and Bhojpuri folk songs have been very popular for last several decades. echo of her melodious songs associated with great festival of faith, Chhath, will always remain. Her demise is an irreparable loss for music world. My condolences are with her family and fans in this hour of grief. Om Shanti!" 

President President Droupadi Murmu remembers Sharda Sinha

" news of demise of Dr Sharda Sinha ji, a famous singer kwn as Bihar 's Nightingale, is extremely sad. Sharda Sinha ji gained immense popularity in music world by giving her melodious voice to Bihari folk songs in Maithili and Bhojpuri. Today, on day of Chhath Puja, her melodious songs must be creating a divine atmosphere of devotion in country and abroad," President President Droupadi Murmu said in a post on X in Hindi.

She was also awarded Padma Bhushan in field of art in year 2018, President said. "Her melodious singing will remain immortal. I express my deepest condolences to her family and fans," Murmu added.
