Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' adds Nizhalgal Ravi to the cast?

first look poster for Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan released back in January 2020. Though film h started production back at start of year, COVID-19 crisis put a halt in film's schedule, which is now expected to resume along wiith all or films/shows which have resumed production amid pandemic. Now, Pinkvilla has reported that Nizhalgal Ravi, a reputed supporting actor from Kollywood will be playing a part in Ponniyin Selvan.

Ponniyin Selvan to feature Nizhalgal Ravi?

While Nizhalgal Ravi's role in film has not been revealed yet, fans are anticipating that actor will be seen essaying role of Ravidasan. character of Ravidasan has been was one of antagonist from original book by same name written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. film h commenced it shoots back in December 2019 in Thailand, however, international shoots have been shelved in wake of COVID-19, as reported by News Minute.

portal also reports that he production team has been scouting locations in Mhya Presh and waiting for government to grant permission for filming. Acctros Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Karthi were actors which took part in first schedule of film back in December 2019. On or hand, majority portions of film also be shot in Hyderab and Chennai-based studios.

Ponniyin Selvan  features a flagship cast which includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumama and many more. Besides directing project, Mani Ratnam has also co-written apted screenplay of film with Kumaravel and Siva Anand. poster of film was released back in January 2020 which shared names of makers of Ponniyin Selvan.

AR Rahman will be hellming composition of songs and background score for film. Whereas, Ravi Varman will be director of photography. On or hand, Sreekar Pras will be helming edit of film. Ponniyin Selvan has bankrolled by Ratnam's Mras Talkies and Lyca productions. As of now, no official release date for film has been released but it is confirmed to be a two-parter.
