Prithviraj on objectionable dialogues in 'Kaduva'; 'They are removed, new version will be out soon'

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran on Monday again apologised for certain inappropriate dialogues against differently-abled persons in his recent film 'Kaduva'.

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 11 (PTI) Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran on Monday again apologised for certain inappropriate dialogues against differently-abled persons in his recent film 'Kuva' and said a version of movie without objectionable dialogues has been submitted to censor board for re-certification that would be sent to exhibition systems for uplo as soon as it is received.

actor, at a press conference held in state capital, said decision to remove dialogues was taken on Saturday after he and ors involved in making of film came to kw about huge backlash on social media over certain dialogues.

To show a print with inappropriate content removed, censor board's recertification is required and since authority does t work on Sunday, same was sent on Monday and approved version is expected to be received during day, he said.

As soon as it is received, it would be sent to exhibition systems for uplo tonight itself, he ded.

He said while y have control over atres abro, y will send corrected version to distributors overseas and will keep following up with m with requests to replace earlier content with latest one.

actor also clarified that intention behind scene or dialogues in question was never to humiliate differently-abled or hurt ir feelings.

In a scene in movie which was released on July 7, protagonist played by Prithviraj, was seen making inappropriate comments against differently-abled persons and ir parents.

Following huge backlash on social media over movie dialogue, Parivaar, an association of parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, h moved State Commission for Persons with Disabilities.

State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities has issued tices to filmmaker Kailas and producers Supriya Men and Listin Stephen seeking an explanation for derogatory dialogues.

Kailas, h soon reafter, tendered a "heartfelt apology" on Facebook regarding matter.

"I tender a heartfelt apology for remarks that hurt parents of differently abled children in movie Kuva, directed by me. That dialogue in movie was a mistake. I would request everyone to forgive me as it was human error. Neir did scriptwriter Jinu who penned dialogue, r did actor Prithviraj, r I, who shot scene, realised its possible contations," Kailas wrote in his Facebook post.

Sharing Kailas' post, Prithviraj h also posted an apology on Facebook. "Sorry. It was a mistake. We ackwledge and accept it," actor wrote.
