Pushpa 2: Chaos erupted in Patna's Gandhi Maidan on Sunday, where a massive crowd gared to see actors Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna who were in city for promotion of ir upcoming film Pushpa 2. A section of audience who gared at venue reportedly crossed barrices and hurled shoes and slippers after being stopped from approaching stars. Social media is flooded with purported videos showing an out-of-control crowd trying to enter venue.

commotion escalated, but Patna police denied claims of a lathi charge to control situation.  Rajeev Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Patna, denied that police resorted to lathi charge to control situation as claimed by a section of media. “Only a group of people who tried to cross barrice were removed. An equate number of security personnel have been deployed at Gandhi Maidan”, Mishra said. 

However, a video was shared by news agency IANS capturing police officers resorting to lathi-charging to control a large garing at Gandhi Maidan. footage depicts chaotic scene as officers attempt to disperse crowd.

District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh assured that situation was under control, and event was continuing as planned till late evening. Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, is set to release worldwide on December 5.   film features Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahh Faasil reprising ir roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.   first part, a blockbuster hit, explored power struggles surrounding red sandalwood smuggling.
