Rajinikanth donates 50 lakhs for Film Employees Federation of South India amid lockdown

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has donated a whopping 50 lakhs to the federation of film employees based in Chennai amid the industry lockdown due to coronavirus.

South Indian film industry workers are likely to face issues due to cancellation of all shootings. livelihoods of many are dependent on income from film shootings which have been currently cancelled due to coronavirus pandemic.

FEFSI has been raising funds to support film industry workers who will lose ir livelihood due to coronavirus lockdown. Amid grave situation throughout country, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has me a sizable donation to support workers and technicians of South Indian film industry. Or film actors like Karthi and Suriya have also donated an amount of Rs.10 lakh for FEFSI workers amidst coronavirus outbreak which has claimed 10 lives in India with about 512 confirmed cases.

Rajinikanth has been actively participating in Prime Minister's initiatives to curb spre of dely virus in Indian subcontinent. 69 year old actor h urged all his followers to abide by 'janta curfew' that took place on Sunday, March 22, 2020. He said virus was at its second st in India and appealed to people to stay indoors so that it can be prevented entering third st.

Meanwhile, actor-politician Kamal Haasan encourd people to follow 'social distancing' to prevent spre of virus and appealed to m t to take part in large garings.
