Rajinikanth's film 'Annaatthe' to be postponed due to coronavirus outbreak?

Just like many films which have been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Rajinikanth's upcoming film, too, might get delayed. Read more details here.

coronavirus pandemic has brought movie business to a standstill as many filmmakers have pushed back release dates of ir films due to Coronavirus pandemic. As per recent developments, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Annaat is set for a furr delay in shooting due to ongoing coronavirus outbreak in country and cast and crew of film may resume its filming work only in 2021. Reportedly, film was earlier scheduled to release on Pongal 2021.

However, it is being speculated that upcoming movie might t receive a green light in coming year. Reportedly, makers landed on this decision as Rajinikanth wanted film's team to be safe and did t wish to shoot for movie amid ongoing global catastrophe.  Indian film industry is currently facing wrath of coronavirus pandemic, as it has disrupted 2020 calendar.

Coronavirus costs big for film industries

Many studios, which h to delay releases of ir films, have w turned to online streaming platforms, in wake of Coronavirus spre. Some of se films include Trolls World Tour, Emma, Hunt, and  Invisible Man. In March, Netflix anunced that it would be establishing a $100 million Coronavirus relief fund to aid creative community. Kumail Nanjiani and Isa Rae's Lovebirds, too, has shifted to Netflix.

It was recently reported that much-awaited sequels to highly successful franchise, Mission: Impossible 7 are getting delayed due to on-going global catastrophe. Reportedly, officials at Paramount studios have w pushed release of seventh Mission Impossible film to vember 19, 2021, and eighth film to vember 4, 2022. As far as Indian movies are concerned, many films like Sooryavanshi, Indian 2, '83 and Gunjan Saxena: Kargil Girl have been delayed due to pandemic.

actor last graced big screens with Darbar. Starring Rajinikanth, Suniel Shetty, and Nayanthara in leing roles, Darbar chronicles story of a feisty police officer, who is on a chase to hunt down a dreed gangster for fulfilling his own secret nda. Helmed by A.R. Murugoss, Darbar is slated to release on January 9, 2020. Meanwhile, Annaat stars Keerthy Suresh, Rajinikanth and Nayanthara in leing roles. Directed by Siva, makers of film have also mand to rope in actors like Prakash Raj and Khushbu.
