Ram Charan, who starred in SS Rajamouli's blockbuster RRR, penned a heartfelt note, congratulating director and the film's team on winning six National Awards. The actor shared a statement on his social media handle and even congratulated the other winners like Alia Bhatt, Allu Arjun and Vaishnav Tej for their big wins. The 69th National Film Award winners list was announced on Thursday (August 24).

The Game Changer actor took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle on Friday to wish the RRR team for their big wins. He wrote, "A moment of pride, as we celebrate the winners of the 69th National Film Awards. A Clean Sweep by my near and dear. Heartiest Congratulations to: Team RRR and the visionary SS Rajamouli Garu on their six National Awards. MM Keeravaani Garu, Prem Rakshith, Kaala Bhairava, Srinivas Mohan, King Soloman, DVV Entertainment, DV Danayya Garu, It's been a remarkable journey."

Wishing the other awardees, Ram Charan wrote, "My brother Vaishnav Tej and my next director Buchi Babu Sana for the success of Uppena. Double Cheers for team Pushpa, my brother Allu Arjun and DSP. My dearest co-star Alia Bhatt for Gangubai. To all the other winners, Thank You for making Indian cinema proud."

RRR sweeps 69th National Film Awards

Though RRR was released in 2022, the film received its U/A certificate in 2021. Thus, it qualified for this year's edition of the National Film Awards. The SS Rajamouli directorial put India on the global map with Oscar win for Naatu Naatu. On Thursday, it won six National Film Awards in categories that include Best Male Playback Singer (Kaala Bhairava and Komuram Bheemudu), Best Film For Wholesome Entertainment, Best Action Direction Award King (Soloman), Best Choreography (Prem Rakshith), Best Special Effects (V Sreenivas Mohan) and Best Music Direction Award -Background Score (MM Keeravaani).

RRR also starred Alia Bhatt, Jr NTR, Shriya Saran and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles.
