Selena Gomez's contemporary Katy Perry too faced a lot of harsh criticism from China and its citizens in year 2015. This happened during one of her concerts, in which Katy Perry wore Taiwanese National flag like a cape with her dress. Sunflower and Taiwanese cape dress was highly criticised post concert.
Netizens ridiculed singer's attire and when Chinese government got to kw about this entire incident, y banned Katy Perry from performing in ir country. Reportedly, this ban is an indefinite one and Roar singer cant enter Chinese territory ever, but confirmation over same has been done by singer or her team.

Ar celebrated name who faced similar fate is ne or than Acemy Award-winning actor Br Pitt. In year 1996 director Jean-Jacques Annaud's popular movie Seven Years in Tibet released. Br Pitt featured in movie as an Austrian mountaineer and, in order to look and sound his part convincingly, he also picked up an Austrian accent. However, things went haywire when film critics did t get impressed by Br Pitt's performance in movie.

Also, Chinese government was highly displeased with Br Pitt over some political issues as his movie Seven Years in Tibet showcased 14th Dalai Lama in a positive role, while Chinese army-men were shown in a 'negative light'. As a result, both Br Pitt and Seven Years in Tibet director Jean-Jacques Annaud were banned to visit Republic of China for years.
