'Squid Game' star Jung Ho Yeon talks about 'being sincere' while playing Sae‑Byeok

internet cannot stop raving about new South Korean survival drama series Squid Game on Netflix which has ded a 'dely' twist to childhood playground games. Within only ten days of hitting OTT platform, series reached number one spot in over 90 countries and is showing no signs of slowing down. Needless to say, massive success of series has brought international attention to cast who were alrey enjoying recognition in South Korea.

Noticeably, supermodel-turned-actor Jung Ho Yeon is quickly rising fame lder as her social media handle witnessed a hike in her followers by tenfolds since premiering of series. Playing role of North Korean defector Sae Byeok, model h to learn ropes to auntically portray character.

In an interview with Herald POP, 27-year-old recalled pouring all her energy into audition tape as it was her first time appearing before lens to act. In over three days, model revealed that she got close with character Sae Byeok and promptly forgot about audition tape she h sent over. However, Jung Ho flew back to Korea as makers requested to meet her in person.

She furr revealed thinking that she 'h gotten herself into trouble and felt a rush of pressure and fear' to point that she h to stop drinking coffee after getting role. After being unable to ease her anxiety, Jung Ho decided to meet with director who told her, ''I picked you because you’re alrey perfect as Sae Byeok.’' After talking with her seniors and focusing on her acting, she was able to deliver a sincere performance. 

To connect more to her character, Jung go mitted to keeping a diary to study Sae Byeok’s inner thoughts. She stated, ''She’s (Sae Nyeok) an interesting person in that she lives for sake of ors, rar than herself. After experiencing her fair share of ups and downs, model noticed that action coming out of her naturally as she got visibly closer to character she portrayed. She ended her statement saying, ''Because I’m lacking, what I focused on most was being sincere.''

Squid Game is a drama series depicting a dely survival series where 456 money-hungry participants enter to win a huge amount. series features Park Hae Soo, Wi Ha‑joon, Lee Jung‑jae and more.
