Sriya, India's first K-Pop artist, releases first single Karma with BLACKSWAN | Watch

India's first K-Pop artist Shreya Lenka, popularly known as Sriya, recently me her K-pop debut. Her group BLACKSWAN released ir latest single Karma after ir comeback. As soon as music album was released, group and song fast became trending topics on Twitter. 

music video titled Karma was shot in Sriya's hometown Odisha. It offered picturesque views and lively streetscapes of city. It also featured idols dancing with autos, schools built with red brick walls, and young Odissi dancers in tritional outfits in background. Talking about BLACKSWAN members' outfits, ir ensembles were inspired by Indian heritage. ir choreography also h an Indian touch. Take a look at tweets below. 

For unversed, Sriya is a trained Odissi dance. She is also trained in or contemporary Indian dance forms. She helped her girl group by introducing m to her culture.

Sriya was selected for last leg of training in Seoul to become newest member of all-girls K-Pop group BLACKSWAN. band's oldest member Hyeme left group in 2020 after which band's agency DR Music announced a global audition in 2021. From 4000 applicants, Sriya and anor girl Gabriela, who is of Brazilian origin were shortlisted. After this update, Sriya became first Indian K-Pop star. agency issued a statement that re, "Sriya and Gabi were finally selected as members of blackswan after participating global audition program for last 6 months. With ir debut, we will be back with new blackswan." Now, BLACKSWAN has finally me ir comeback with a new music album.
