Sulli was a South Korean singer, model, actor and songwriter. She first gained popularity as a child actor. The young star has recently met a tragic end. It is alleged that the K-pop star committed suicide. Quite a few things about Sulli are not known to many of her fans. Here are a few such facts about Sulli that have not been popularized.

Sulli's real name

Do you know the real name of the late Korean pop artist Sulli? Her real name was Choi Jin-ri. She has been popularly known by her stage name Sulli in Korea. She was born on March 29, 1994, in Busan. She was the third child and the only daughter of her family. Her real name was changed as Sulli before her debut as a child actor, reportedly by the suggestion of a reporter. The reporter allegedly claimed that her birth name was “too Christian” and would alienate those from other religions.

Schooling

Sulli’s mother enrolled the K-pop star in acting school at a young age. The late K-pop star attended Jungbu Elementary School in Busan. This was followed Sulli attending Seoul Cheongdam Elementary School and later Chungdam institute for her middle schooling. Sulli shifted to Seoul when she was in her fourth grade in the year 2004.

Career

Sulli began her acting career when she was just eleven. In 2005, she played the young Princess Seonhwa of Silla in the SBS drama Ballad of Sendong. The late K-pop star later attended an SM Entertainment audition, during which Sulli sang the S.E.S song titled Chingu. The band was comprised of four other upcoming stars. Their debut called La Cha Ta was released in September 2009. They released their first full-length studio album Pinocchio in April 2011. In 2013, they picked up their first Group Artist award at the 20th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards.

Mental Health

Before quitting the entertainment industry in 2014, the late K-pop star reportedly announced that she was mentally and physically exhausted. This was after she had been suffering from malicious comments and false rumours that were prevailing on social media. She also reportedly took a rare step and opened up about her mental health issues. She reportedly said that she has suffered from a panic disorder since she was young.
