Jayam Ravi's Wife Aarti Alleges PS 2 Actor Announced Divorce Without Her Consent: Purely One-Sided

Jayam Ravi Divorce: On September 9, the PS 2 actor took to his social media account to share the news of his separation from his wife Aarti, 15 years after their marriage. The news came as a shock to the fans of the actors as he requested privacy in the tough times. Days later, his wife Aarti, has now shared a lengthy note on social media alleging that the announcement of divorce was made without her consent and has affected her children.  She has also asserted that the decision to ‘walk out on the family’ was of the actor alone and called it ‘one-sided’. 

Aarti’s shocking note after Jayam Ravi's divorce announcement

Jayam Ravi announced his divorce in a statement on September 9 following which his wife Aarti has penned a lengthy note regarding the same. Taking to her social media on September 11, she wrote, “I am deeply shocked and saddened by the recent public announcement regarding our marriage, which was made without my knowledge or consent. After 18 years of shared history, I believe that such a significant matter should be handled with the grace, respect and privacy that it deserves."

In her post, Aarti alleged that her husband and actor Jayam Ravi refused to have a dialogue with her regarding their relationship and rather made the announcement publically. She added, “For some time, I have sought several opportunities to speak directly with my husband, hoping to have an open dialogue in a manner that honours the commitment we made to one another and to our family. Sadly, that opportunity was not afforded to me, leaving both my children and me completely blindsided by this announcement. The decision to walk out of our marriage is purely one-sided and does not benefit our family."

In the statement, Aarti also wrote, “Despite the pain this has caused, I have chosen to remain dignified and refrain from public comment until now. It has been hard to endure the false public narrative that has unfairly placed blame on me and subjected my character to attacks. As a mother, my first priority and always will be the well-being of my children. I cannot stand by while this narrative affects them, and I will not allow those unfounded allegations to go unaddressed. My focus remains on the well-being of our children and helping them navigate this difficult time with the strength and integrity they deserve. I trust that in time, the full context of a situation will be understood." She concluded the note by thanking the press and her well-wishers for respecting the couple's privacy in the tough times.

What did Jayam Ravi say about his divorce?

On September 9, in an X (formerly Twitter) post, Jayam Ravi wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share a deeply personal update with all of you. After much thought, reflections and discussions, I have taken the difficult decision to proceed with the dissolution of my marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made out of haste and it stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved.”

He added, "In light of this, I hereby kindly request all of you to respect our privacy as well as that of our family members during this difficult time and appeal to all of you to refrain from making any assumptions, rumors, or allegations in this regard and let the matter remain private."

He concluded by writing, "My priority has always remained the same - to continue bringing joy and entertainment through my films to my dearest audience. I am still and will always be your Jayam Ravi - who is cherished by all of you throughout my career and as an actor who is dedicated to my craft and commitment to showcasing the best of my talent. Your constant support means the world to me and I am grateful for the love you have showered on me over the years." The actor's post garnered sympathy for him.
