Dilli Babu Death: Noted Tamil film producer Dilli Babu died in the early hours of September 9 in Chennai, according to reports. He was 50. He breathed his last at around 12.30 am. Dilli Babu founded the production house Axess Film Factory in 2014. A post shared on the X handle of the production house confirmed his passing.

"With a heavy heart, we announce the untimely passing of Mr G Dilli Babu sir, the esteemed producer and visionary founder of Axess Film Factory. During this difficult time, we kindly request everyone to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We also ask for privacy for his family as they navigate this immense loss. He inspired a lot of people through his passion and vision. His presence will be deeply missed (sic)," the post read.

Dilli Babu's production house Axess Film Factory is popular for backing out-of-the-box movies that not only did good box office business but also received critical acclaim. Ratsasan (2018), starring Vishnu Vishal, was one of the production house's most popular movies  It was remade in Telugu as Rakshasudu and in Hindi as Cuttputlli, which featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Other hit films that were backed by Dilli Babu are Urumeen, Miral, Kalvan, Valaiyam and Bachelor. Babu was known for introducing new faces in his films. 

Celebs mourn Dilli Babu's death

Venkat Prabhu, the director of Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT, was among the celebrities who mourned the death of Dilli Babu. “Very disheartening and shocking to hear about the passing of my dear friend, producer Dilli Babu sir. My deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. Gone too soon,” Prabhu wrote.

Composer Ghibran Vaibodha wrote, "I am still in shock and speechless at the loss of our Ratsasan producer, Dillibabu sir. He had the vision to see big things and was a man with big dreams. Truly a dreamer with the hard work and commitment to make them possible. This is a significant loss to the world. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Peace be upon you, sir."
