GOAT Box Office Collection Day 10: Vijay Starrer Set To Become ₹200 Crore Grosser In India Today

GOAT Box Office Collection: Vijay has been basking in the success of his recently released movie The GOAT, helmed by Venkat Prabhu. The movie earned positive reviews from critics and audiences and the same has translated into box office receipts. The sci-fi thriller will soon be entering the ₹200 crore club.

According to Sacnilk, GOAT earned around ₹13.00 crore nett on its tenth day for all languages in India. It had an overall 56.74% Tamil Occupancy on September 14 with the maximum reported in Dindigul (83.00%), followed by Trichy (82.50%),  Chennai (73.00%) and Coimbatore (56.25%). In 10 days, the film has collected a little over ₹197 crore nett in the domestic market and ₹350 crore worldwide.

Why GOAT couldn’t fare well in Hindi language?

Amid online trolling over the film's non-performance in languages other than Tamil, GOAT director Venkat Prabhu had a funny reaction. During an interaction with fans on X, Prabhu suggested that his allegiance to a particular Indian Premier League (  IPL  ) team might have affected the film’s reception in these regions. His X bio reveals him as a passionate supporter of the Indian cricket team and the  Chennai Super Kings  .

Prabhu also mentioned that the movie’s thrilling climax was inspired by ‘Die Hard’. They had hoped to enhance the scene with a surprise cameo from former CSK captain  MS Dhoni  , but the plan didn’t come to fruition. As Venkat put it, “We just couldn’t make it happen.”

GOAT has become one of Vijay’s biggest successes in recent times. It is touted to be the second-highest grosser of his career, following Leo. It is reported that after around 8-week of theatrical run, the movie will premiere on Netflix, but the makers are yet to confirm the same.

Apart from Vijay, Venkat Prabhu's directorial also stars Vijay Chandrasekhar, Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Meenakshii Chaudhary and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles.
