Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT: The latest film of the Tamil star is doing great at the box office, ever since it released on September 5. The film has been receiving amazing response from the netizens as well. Recently, an interesting detail has come up in which not Sneha, but Nayanthara has been revealed to be the first choice for the sci-fi thriller.
Nayanthara was the first choice to play the female lead in GOAT?
According to a report in 123 Telugu, in a recent interview, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu revealed that he initially approached Nayanthara for Vijay’s wife’s role, but later he cast Sneha.
He said, “Nayanthara mam called me after watching the movie. She liked the film very much and said Sneha mam did a wonderful job. She further told me that no one could have done it better than Sneha mam.”
GOAT box office collection so far
As per Sacnilk, the total collection of GOAT so far stands at ₹170.75 crore at the box office in India in its first week. The film has been performing well in Tamil but not in other languages. The Hindi and Telugu collections are muted.

Venkat Prabhu recently opened up about the poor performance of Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film in Hindi and Telugu markets. Venkat Prabhu shared his thoughts on X, saying, “Due to my support for Chennai Super Kings , Mumbai Indians and RCB fans tease me.” He chuckled and added in Tamil, “We’re all CSK fans; it’s in our blood. Perhaps this connection to CSK is why the movie didn’t resonate with Telugu and Hindi viewers. They might not have experienced the film the way we did.”
Helmed by Venkat Prabhu, features Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Laila, Sneha, Ajmal, Mohan, Jayaram, Vaibhav, Premji, and Aravind Akash, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
