GOAT's Muted Hindi Collections Elicit An Absurd Comment From Venkat Prabhu

Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT, has been thriving since its release on September 5 as it has grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide in just five days. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this sci-fi action thriller has sparked a frenzy among fans since its special preview screening. movie was released in five languages but it has excelled in Tamil, accounting for more than half of total collection, its performance in Telegu and Hindi has been somewhat disappointing. Prabhu has recently shared his insights into reasons behind its underwhelming reception in Hindi following online rage.
GOAT's poor collection in Hindi and Telegu version
In India, Venkat Prabhu's movie has collected ₹151.75 crore in just five days, with Tamil version contributing a whopping ₹134.1 crore. However, Hindi version has performed relatively poorly, earning only ₹13.76 crore in six days, with an everyday decline in earnings.

Similarly, Telegu version has seen a consistent drop in collections, totaling ₹23.8 crores in six days. film's limited release in Hindi and Telugu, as well as its absence from major cinema chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, contributed to se lower figures.
Venkat Prabhu's reason for GOAT failure in Hindi
Amid online trolling, Venkat Prabhu recently dressed poor performance of Thalapathy Vijay's latest film in Hindi and Telugu markets. During an interaction with fans on X/Twitter, Venkat suggested that his allegiance to a particular Indian Premier League ( IPL ) team might have affected film’s reception in se regions. His X bio reveals him as a passionate supporter of Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings .

Venkat Prabhu shared his thoughts on X, saying, “Due to my support for Chennai Super Kings , Mumbai Indians and RCB fans tease me.” He chuckled and ded in Tamil, “We’re all CSK fans; it’s in our blood. Perhaps this connection to CSK is why movie didn’t resonate with Telugu and Hindi viewers. y might not have experienced film way we did.”
Prabhu also mentioned that movie’s thrilling climax was inspired by ‘Die Hard’. y h hoped to enhance scene with a surprise cameo from former CSK captain MS Dhoni , but plan didn’t come to fruition. As Venkat put it, “We just couldn’t make it happen.”
