On September 9, Jayam Ravi announced on social media that he and his wife were separating after careful consideration. Days after actor's note, a conflicting statement came from his estranged wife Aarti, who alleged that divorce announcement was me without her consent. This follows reports of Aarti’s mor Sujatha Vijayakumar and her opted son Shankar being reason for divorce.

On September 11, Aarti Ravi penned a detailed note, making surprising revelations that contricted Jayam Ravi’s statement on ir divorce on X, fueling speculation.

In her Instagram post, she expressed “shock and sness over a public announcement about ir marriage, me without her knowledge or consent”.
Aarti also claimed that her husband, actor Jayam Ravi, refused to discuss ir relationship privately and inste me announcement public. She explained, "For some time, I have tried to speak directly with my husband, hoping for an open conversation that respects commitment we me to each or and our family. Unfortunately, that chance was denied, leaving both my children and me blindsided by announcement. decision to end our marriage is one-sided and does not benefit our family." This follows rumours that her mor was cause of ir divorce.

Is Aarti’s mor Sujatha Vijayakumar responsible for her divorce?
A recent report from FilmiBEAT suggests that separation between Jayam Ravi and Aarti may be linked to Aarti’s mor, Sujatha Vijayakumar, and her opted son, Shankar. It claims that during a shoot supervised by Shankar and Sujatha, Jayam Ravi faced some disagreements.
Jayam Ravi also asked ₹25 crore for his upcoming film with Pandiraj. However, Sujatha reportedly urged director to reduce budget, arguing that Ravi's market value didn’t justify such a high amount. As a result, Pandiraj stepped away from project.

Sujatha Vijayakumar, a well-known Tamil producer, was recognised as best debut producer for her work on angamaru. She has also produced Veerappu (2007), a remake of Malayalam film Spikam (1995), and anga Maru (2018), starring Jayam Ravi.

On 9th September, Jayam Ravi shared a statement on his X account, announcing that he and Aarti h decided to end ir marriage after thoughtful consideration. He requested privacy for both ir families during this challenging period and urged fans not to spre assumptions, rumours, or allegations about ir divorce.
However, Aarti’s recent statement has ded conflicting dissolutions.
