Kamal Haasan 'Respectfully' Declines Ulaganayagan Title: Prefer To Remain Grounded

Kamal Haasan has been in industry for over six deces and is considered one of greatest and most respected actors in Indian cinema. He is also kwn for introducing many new invations to Indian cinema apart from giving numerous hits. Owing to this, his ardent fans started referring to him as Ulaganayagan and used it as a prefix. However, on Monday, vember 11, veteran star took to his X handle and issued a statement requesting his fans t to use all such prefixes in his name.

Kamal Haasan expresses gratitude over being bestowed with endearing titles

Taking to his X handle, Kamal Haasan issued a statement in which he thanked his fans for showering him with love and respect. He wrote, "I have always felt a deep sense of gratitude over being bestowed with endearing titles such as Ulaganayagan, among ors. Such accoles, given by people and recognised by esteemed colleagues and mirers, has always been humblings and I've been genuinely moved by your love in conferring it upon me."

He ded that art of cinema transcends beyond any one individual and he is a student of craft, forever hoping to evolve, learn and grow.

Why did Kamal Haasan request his fans to stop attaching prefixes?

In his statement, he furr requested t to attach prefixes to his name as he wants to remain grounded and aware of his imperfections. "It is my humble belief that artist must t be elvated above art. I prefer to remain grounded, constatntly aware of my imperfestions and my duty to improve . Hence, after considerable reflection, I feel compelled to respectfully decline such titles or prefixes. I humbly request that all my fans, media, members of film fraternity, party cre and fellow Indians, to here on after, refer to me simply as Kamal Haasan or Kamal or KH.”

Kamal Haasan's statement comes days after Ajith Kumar wrote an open letter to his fans requesting m t to refer to him as "Thala" or any or nickname.
